It's A Grower

I find with some products I initially dislike them but after a while they start to grow on me. I thought I would share with you some products I am using at the moment that to begin with I wasn't keen on.

I will start of with the the famous Bioderma Micellaire water. If you don't know what this is you have clearly been living on Mars. I wrote a post about this back in April last year about how much I though this was over hyped. As much as I still think some of the things I said are true this is now my second bottle of it.
This is a great product to use for when you stroll in from a heavy night or are just feeling super lazy. It removes make up well, though I still have to use several cotton wool pads. (None of this one sweep and gone like some people say) I still swear by oil and balm cleansers but this is perfect for when I can not be bothered and is so much better than a make up wipe!

The Balance Me Rose Otto Lip Salve has been put in my blog sales on several occasions but never sold. A couple of weeks ago I decided to give it another go. I use this before bed and I wake up with really smooth lips. I am really happy I gave this another try as I have been loving it, nearly as much as my Blistex. This is a natural lip balm but does contain Lanolin which I'm still undecided about.

Another well talked about product is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Over Night Mask. To begin with I found this too rich for me but in these cold months my skin has been loving it. I only use it once a week max as it really is rich but that bit of extra moisture really benefits my skin and I wake up with smooth, hydrated skin. I understand the hype around this now.

Eysilix is from the same brand that made the wonderful hydraluron, when I first used this I just thought it was like every eye other cream. It moisturised well but that's it. After reading more and more posts on it I decided I needed to give it more of a chance. I have been using this morning and night for weeks now and have definitely noticed a difference to my eye area. It feels smoother and my lines look a little less obvious.

Lastly is the Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment, this has a very strong smell of lemon sherbet which I am not overally keen on. Though if you push through that this is a lovely tinted balm. It leaves a lovely tint of colour and doesn't dry your lips out, I wouldn't say it moisturised you lips really though. This is perfect for those no make up days.

Is there any products you have that took you a while to fall in love with?

  2. I still don't get the hype about Micellaire water, I tried Melvita and it's nice but to me it's like using a toner. I like the sound of the Origins mask

  8. Ahh, this always happens to me! I think I really dislike a product, give it a few months and I fall in love with it! Origins Vitazing, MAC Hue, there's so many! I really want to try one of those Fresh Sugar lip balms actually!

  9. I tired my first micellar water cleanser on the weekend. I think they are over hyped really. You can't beat a good cream, oil or balm cleanser. I ended up using about 3 large cotton wool pads and didn't think it was any quicker or easier than a cream cleanser.
Glad you're getting on better with the Eysilix now. It's like all skincare, it must be used regular to see the best results xx

    1. I still prefer an oil or balm, they just leave the skin feeling so much cleaner and softer. x

  10. Eyesilix is going to be my next eye cream purchase I think, either that or the one from Sarah Chapman.

The Dior Lip Glow balm was a grower for me, I wasn't too fussed at first but love it now.
